The boy runs down the steep valley unable
to climb the rocky sides. I walk slowly behind him, my machete glistening in
the moonlight. Dried blood sticks to my clothes, hair, and face. The boy begins
to slow and stumble in exhaustion.
“Come on, is that all the stamina you
have?” I say slowly gaining on him.
He turns with scared eyes and spots me only
steps behind him. A tiny scream escapes his mouth as he falls to the ground. I
walk towards him laughing. While he tries to crawl backwards, his back hits the
steep rock wall behind him, trapping him.
His body is shaking as my shadow falls over
his frightened expression. I can hear his heart thumping loudly. He covers his
hands over his face, “Please.”
I smile down at him. Let the fun begin. Lifting the machete quickly towards the sky, I
let it come down. Screams pierce the night air along with the sound of blood
splattering on the rocks and hard ground. It lasts for only mere minutes before
there is only the sound of my laugh echoing through the valley.
I lift my hands towards the red moon high
in the sky enjoying its light. I look back and see the path of blood and bodies
marking my trail. Tonight is the night I finally get to come out to play – the
night I’m finally awakened.
I soak in the red light and let little of
my power escape. The rocks fall as the ground shakes violently. The floor of
the valley begins to crack and tear. Fire comes from deep in the ground and
black bodies begin to crawl out from the earth.
I look towards the city and I point my hand
towards it. I smile as the bodies walk in staggering lines heading to the
lights and sounds. Soon more screams will fill the air. More blood will cover
the earth painting a beautiful picture.
All is under my control.
