So this is like the first chapter of a book I'm co-writing with Lindsay. I wrote this chapter.
I'm really excited about this book <3 I like it a lot. We have about 14,000 words so far.
This is prob the only chapter I'll post of this book.
Christina:
The innocence of a child, It’s something pure, but corruptible. Looking back to when I was little I didn't know of evil. I was innocent and pure down to the white dress I wore. My wavy blond hair fell to my waist and my face always held a bright smile. All I knew was dancing and
singing to my favorite songs with my family, playing in the mountain streams, running in the horse field by my house.
Everything pure has a possibility of being corrupted. Exactly like the juice staining my dress I was also stained. Stains happen before you can stop it. It can happen in a second or before you even realize it.
When I was around six my father began to come in my room when my mother wasn't home. After he left I’d cry out for anyone to save me- to take me away from here. When I was eight, my father came home late one night. He stumbled into the living room where my mother and I sat. He jerked my mother up by her hair making her eyes grow wide. Then the screaming began. He beat her to death while I stood by with tears running down my face.
Blood covered our white walls and decorated our family portraits. As my father stood over my motionless mother he turned to me. He was breathless and his eyes were crazed. He was no longer the caring, happy person I knew.
I ran, blinded by tears, into my bedroom. I slammed my door and fumbled with the lock. As he beat senselessly against my door I backed slowly away. As he screamed and yelled I covered my ears and dropped to the floor.
There was a load crack as the door broke from its hinges. My father walked in.
I looked up at him with pleading eyes, “Please, please don’t hurt me daddy.”
He balled up his fist and started to swing it towards my face. I shut my eyes and waited, but no pain ever came.
I slowly and cautiously opened my eyes and saw a large man before me. His eyes were a glowing green and his black hair fell into his eyes as he looked down at me. He had a white light surrounding his body.
“Who are you?”
“I’m your guardian angel.” He stretched his hand towards me, “I answered your calls, Christina. You don't need to worry anymore.”
A feeling of love and safety caressed my body. For the first time in years I finally felt safe. I smiled up at him and took his hand.
We walked away from that house through the fields full of flowers.
“I’ll be staying with you forever, Christina. You’ll live a normal life with me. Is that okay?”
I looked up at his kind face and felt his warm hand surrounding mine, “That’s okay.”
