Karen Hamlett sat with her friends Bailey Orange, Elizabeth Orange, and Alex Williams . Karen played with her food while she sneaked
glances at her crush across the cafeteria.
“If I tired I could beat you…”, Elizabeth said looking down.
Bailey and Alex were the smart ones in the group. Bailey always having the top
grades and Alex the one that doesn’t try but still has AB honor roll. Elizabeth
was the music lover. She was all about singing. She also was a writer one of
the best Karen has ever read. Elizabeth was short and very skinny. Because of
the way she looked she was always picked on about being weak.
“Yeah right!” Bailey said laughing. Bailey was the athlete.
She was severely dedicated to swimming. Her nickname in the group was fishie.
She and Elizabeth were best friends otherwise known as the twins. Bailey was
taller and a bit more built then Elizabeth. Bailey had shoulder length brown
wavy hair.
Alex continued eating no longer interested in the
conversation. She was short and larger. She had glasses and cropped blond hair.
She mostly wore black because her mother made her. Her mom stated it was
slimming. Alex was the rebel of the group. She brought pocket knives to school
and practiced with bow and arrows. She had a reputation of beating up kids that
talked about her mother. Alex was the first one you came to if you wanted
someone to leave you alone.
Then that leaves Karen. She was tall and medium sized. She
had long dirty blond hair and beautiful blue eyes. She was credited as being
sweet and caring, though she had her moments of blow ups. Alex and bailey often
picked on her about being stupid, thus giving her the nickname Goldie locks.
She was also boy crazed and had a thing for older men. Every guy with a jaw
line she typically liked. She had a thing for sparkles and anything shiny.
“Leave her alone you guys. She probably could beat you.”
Karen said standing up to throw her garbage away. She strutted to the trash can
making sure her crush watched her every step of the way.
Alex rolled her eyes at Karen and looked at Bailey, “Liza
couldn’t do anything to me or you. Karen wouldn’t be able to take me either.
The only person that could probably beat me would be Grace.”
Grace Carney was a girl in their outer group of friends.
She had recently cut her curly hair
short. She had glasses and was in marching band. She has a black belt in (ninja
skills) which made her untouchable by Alex.
She was the one every usually picked on. When there was nothing to talk
about the topic basically ends up being her.
Karen being one of Grace’s best friends didn’t typically
like this, but any defense she made for her was shot down immediately.
“Today I read another one of her stories and she is exactly
copying it from that new TV show.” Elizabeth said leaning closer.
“Seriously, it’s so annoying. Did she use that name that she
stole from you again?” Bailey turned towards Elizabeth.
“No, she’s using one of yours now.” Alex said staking her
trash into a small pile.
Karen sat back down at the table, “Maybe she just likes the
name. There’re tons of people out there with the same name. That’s not
considered stealing. If It was a bunch of Johns would be in a lot of trouble.”
Bailey rolled her eyes and sighed, “You don’t understand I
came up with that name. it’s unique, mine alone.”
The bell rang and we stood and started heading through the
crowd to the lunchroom doors.
“You guys are just being really immature about this.” Karen
said shaking her head.
“You’re going to the beach with her for a week this summer,
right? Can you talk to her?” Elizabeth asked.
“Yeah, I’ll talk to her about it.” Karen snuck a look to her
right where her crush talked to his friends. He smiled and laughed at something
they said.
A foot shot out and tripped Karen, making her shoe come off.
She looked around and saw Nic Hayes looking all too guilty.
“Nic!” she yelled at him jokingly and slapped his arm.
Nic Hayes was one of Karen’s best guy friends. He was from
South America and his accent sometimes made it so you wouldn’t understand what
he was saying. He and Karen told each other basically everything.
“Is it getting hot in here?” Nic said wickedly smiling and
looking pointedly at Karen’s crush.
“Shut up!” she elbowed him in the ribs.
“Wow, it really is hot in here!” Nic basically shouted.
In front of them Bailey and Elizabeth had linked their arms
together and skipped. They talked about the TV show they recently watched. Alex
laughed at them and tried to keep her distance.
The hall was filled with laughing teens waiting for the
school day to be over. Little did they all know their school day was going to end faster than they'd realized.
Heh, this could potentially be offensive if discovered by certain people. And Karen, who is this crush of which you speak?!
ReplyDeleteI Think I know what you're talking about. Lindsay already knew about all that stuff that went on. Also, Bailey, Liza, and Alex have all read this.
ReplyDeleteI wrote most of this last school year.. so it was last years crush.. i don't like anyone at the moment. :)
